Warrior poses are a right of passage for anyone new to yoga, and they make a great foundation for building a solid posture practice.
From your core to your legs and getting the brain in gear, these moves have it all. Warrior postures have a lot of different alignment cues to learn. The key ones are keeping the knee over the ankle, getting the palms facing the right way, and where you place the head. Keeping all these in mind while staying with the breath can feel a bit like a juggling act. But this is Warrior Pose after all – they challenge and test us, but in doing so bring us strength, focus, will power, confidence and courage.
